Purposes and legal bases of data processing

In order to enable your registration for and your participation in the MoveNow Social Innovation Challenge as either a volunteer judge or a coach, the processing of your personal data is necessary. The data is processed for the purposes of:
– providing you with internal communication and instruction material during the registration process
– inviting you to training sessions
– selecting suitable judges and coaches
– enabling communications with young founders
– conducting pitch events

In addition to your identification data (e.g. name, company e-mail address), we will process data regarding your job and qualifications and additional comments you provide to us during registration.

We also process your data if it is necessary to protect our legitimate interests or those of third parties. In particular, this may be the case:
– to ensure IT security and IT operations,
– to prevent and investigate criminal offences, in particular through data analysis to combat abuse
– for statistical evaluations

In addition, we process your data to comply with legal obligations (e.g. regulatory requirements, retention and verification obligations under commercial and tax law or advisory obligations).

Categories of recipients of personal data

In order to achieve the above-mentioned purposes, it is sometimes necessary to transmit your personal data to other recipients to the extent necessary in each case. These recipients may be contractors, or in rare cases, third parties. In any case, contractual arrangements have been concluded with the recipients to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Duration of data storage

Generally, we delete your data as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purposes mentioned above. We will keep your data for the period in which claims can be made against our company (statutory limitation period of three or up to thirty years). In addition, we store your data to the extent that we are legally obliged to do so. Corresponding obligations to provide evidence and retention arise from the Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch) and the Tax Code (Abgabenordnung), among other things. The storage periods are up to ten full years.

Rights of data subjects

You can request information about the data stored about you at the above address and, under certain conditions, the correction or deletion of your data. You may also have a right to restriction of the processing of your data as well as a right to data portability.

Right to object

If we process your data based on legitimate interests, you may object to this processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.

In addition, you have the right to launch a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is: The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayrisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht) in Ansbach.
